Therapy Services
I am an energetic and committed therapist (and true coach at heart), whose therapeutic approach is both collaborative and encouraging.I have an eclectic style and love to use metaphors to help my clients understand things from a different lens.
Pressure is an Understatement
Needing to perform every game day is really starting to take a toll.
Regardless of the level at which you are playing, there tends to always be higher expectations from those around you: family, friends, coaches, teammates. No matter how well you perform it never seems to be enough. Your anxiety rises as you put pressure on yourself to perform “well” but the results are far from what you expect. Your scholarship is at stake: either receiving one or maintaining one; your professional dream will remain just that, a dream, unless things change.
You don’t feel comfortable talking to anyone about your struggles with your mental health, especially your coaches. You feel they won’t understand and will ask you to “suck it up” and “play through it”. So often we as a society want our athletes/coaches (and in Corporate America) to leave our personal problems at home before entering the building, court, or field. Is it truly reasonable to ask you to separate personal from professional? A few can but at what cost?
Most of the time you are able to do that, but this time is different and you are finding it hard to move forward.

You and Your Life Are Last on the List
You truly try to do your best when you are at home, but you are barely there. And, when you are, you are exhausted. Relationships suffer. Anyone who chooses to partner with you feels like they are single, and if you have kids- forget about it. No matter how quality you make the time, there just isn’t enough of it in a day. When you finally do carve out some time, an important recruit wants to talk and you feel stuck.

FOR ATHLETIC COACHES

FOR ATHLETES
A SAFE SPACE
With experience as a student-athlete, head coach and assistant coach at the university, junior college and high school levels, I truly understand the stress that coaches and athletes feel on a day to day basis. Through my own personal experiences, advanced education and diverse professional positions over the past 15+ years, I offer a wide range of knowledge, while my receptiveness, compassion and encouragement create a safe space to release your worries and grow through the process. While I take an active therapeutic role, I find true joy in watching from the sidelines as you make life changes to improve your overall well-being.
